Delete your Empower & Link account

Empower & Link is a staff app. This page explains how a staff member deletes their account, what is destroyed, and what we are required to keep.

Last updated: August 15, 2026

How to delete your account

Empower & Link, published by Empower and Link, Inc.

In the app, if you can sign in

Open Settings → Personal → Delete account, read the summary, then type your email address and the word DELETE to confirm. It takes effect straight away: you are signed out on every device and you will not be able to sign in again.

Go to Delete account

Staff sign-in required. There is nothing to sign in to unless Empower & Link has given you a staff account.

By email, if you cannot sign in

If you have uninstalled the app, lost your device, or can no longer get in, ask us directly. Send the request from your work email address, or tell us which address the account uses, and put Account deletion request in the subject line. You do not need to sign in anywhere to do this.

We respond within 30 days of receiving a request.

What is deleted

Destroyed immediately, and we cannot recover any of it:

  • Your password and your two-step verification settings
  • Your backup codes and any unused setup link
  • Your saved signature
  • Your phone number
  • Your registration for app notifications on every device
  • Your access on every device and browser you are signed in on

What is retained

Kept because record-retention and confidentiality rules require it, and deletion of your account does not change that:

  • Case notes, consent forms and disclosures you recorded, kept with the record they belong to
  • The audit trail of what was accessed and changed, which cannot be edited or removed by anyone
  • Your name, work email and role, because the records above have to stay attributable to the person who made them

What deleting your account actually does

Deleting your account permanently ends your access. Your sign-in credentials are destroyed rather than switched off, so there is no version of your account left for anyone to turn back on, and no one at Empower & Link can restore what was destroyed. If you ever need access again, an administrator has to send a new invitation and you would set up two-step verification from the beginning.

It does not reassign your work. Anything that was assigned to you stays assigned until an administrator hands it to someone else, and administrators are notified so they can do that.

Why some records stay

Empower & Link keeps health and human-services records. The notes, consent forms and disclosures a staff member records belong to the organization's files, not to that staff member's account, and federal and state record-retention requirements oblige us to keep them for a set period after the file is last active. The audit trail of who accessed what is held to the same standard and is built so that it cannot be altered or erased — including by us.

That is why we cannot offer to erase everything a departing staff member touched, and why we say so here rather than after the fact. Retention periods for each kind of record are set out under Data Retention in our Privacy Policy.

Nothing that is retained is used to market to you, and none of it is sold or traded.

Who this page is for

The Empower & Link app is used by our own staff to coordinate services. Accounts are created by an administrator; nobody can sign up for one, and people who receive services from Empower & Link do not have accounts in it. Using our public website — reading a page, sending us a message, making a donation — does not create an account either.

If you want to know what information Empower & Link holds about you, or you want to ask us to delete it, that is covered by Your Rights in our Privacy Policy. You can email or call us at the numbers above, and you do not need an account to ask.
