Keeping Our Neighbors Housed

Housing is the biggest barrier to stability. Without a safe place to call home, everything else — recovery, employment, family caregiving — becomes so much harder. To date, through donations alone, Empower & Link has provided $11,248 (48% of our total financial assistance expenditures) to prevent evictions and mitigate homelessness. The needs are only increasing, and the requests keep coming in.

This week we have three urgent needs: Grandmother & Granddaughter: Needs $1,700 by July 15 for security deposit + first month’s rent after eviction. Young Woman post-Rehab: Completed rehab & sober living, working full-time for 6+ months. Needs $700 for security deposit by July 9 Woman in Sober Living: Recently moved in and needs $650 for first month’s rent ASAP while awaiting employment eligibility.
