Kim Hixenbaugh is a compassionate community advocate born and raised in Triadelphia, West Virginia. Together with her husband, Chad, of 26 years, she is a proud mother of two grown sons and a grandmother to one grandson. Kim’s career began in healthcare, where she spent 12 years serving as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) before stepping away to dedicate herself to raising her family as a stay-at-home mom. Upon returning to the workforce, Kim turned her focus toward direct family support, working as an in-home provider to deliver vital education and guidance to vulnerable, at-risk families. Having navigated life’s journey without a strong support network or knowledge of available community aid, Kim understands firsthand what it feels like to face daunting obstacles alone. This personal history, combined with her professional experience, fuels her deep empathy and ability to build genuine, trusting rapport with the people she serves. She believes in the concept of "walking alongside" individuals and families through their hardest moments, helping them overcome barriers one practical step at a time is essential for achieving long term stability. Kim is a vital asset to the Empower and Link team, bridging lived experience with hands-on professional care because she has personally experienced life without a "village," Kim connects with clients on a deeply authentic level. She empowers families by helping them identify their strengths, break down overwhelming challenges, and steadily build long-term stability.
